Minecraft 1.21.111 – The Copper Update Release

The Copper Update 1.21.111 is out, and here are its main features – basically everything important gathered in one post.

Changes and Tweaks

Experimental Toggles Removed

The experimental toggle of new features was removed by the developers. Now you’re able to access them by not having to flip anything on in default worlds. Previously, players were able to turn Experiments on. Now they’re on by default in Minecraft: Bedrock 1.21.111, so players can instantly try the new content.

New Panorama

The background of main menu is refreshed. It feels nostalgic, almost like old-school Minecraft, but now with copper golem right there.

Shelf Block

The shelf now available in both Bedrock and Java. Crafted with stripped logs of any type (oak, birch, spruce, etc). Place three on top and three on bottom in a crafting table to make six.

Shelves are not just decoration. They let you quick-swap hotbar, hold up to 64 of single item, and even interact with redstone. Builders already using them for paneling and podiums. Each shelf has three slots where you can place or swap items instantly. They can be waterloged too.

Redstone Features
Each slot is 1 bit, and the three bits convert to decimal value 0-7. For example, the first slot gives strength 1, second gives 2, third gives 4, and all three together is 7.

Copper Golems and Chests

Copper golems finally out of experiments. They come in regular, exposed, weathered, and oxidized. To make one, place a carved pumpkin on top of copper blocks.

They act as item sortters, searching for the right chest and putting items inside. They’re faster and panic when attacked. They also turn their head to look at player, which feels more alive.

Copper Chests
The ideal companion to sort and store further is copper chests.

Copper Golem Statue

If a golem oxidized fully, then it will turn into a statue block. The statue will freeze indiscriminately, can be waxed, and even will output redstone. A new statue will be revived with life by attacking with an axe.

Variety of poses = varying signal strength, so they’re perfect for doors or hidden bases.

Copper Tools, Armor, and Nuggets

Copper finally has real use. Tools, weapons, and armor crafted with copper ingots.

  • Stronger than stone but weaker than iron.
  • Swifter than stone, slower than iron.
  • More enchantable than diamond but rather less than iron.

Zombies may spawn with copper equipment. Smelting equipment produces copper nuggets, too, which can be crafted.

Players of Minecraft: PE 1.21.111 can now also find copper gear on mobs naturally, making copper more relevant in survival gameplay.

Copper Adorn

  • Copper Torch: green flame torch, ideal to achieve a steampunk ambiance.
  • Copper Bars: identical to iron bars but oxidize
  • Copper Chains: oxidize too, same functionality as usual.
  • Copper Lanterns: made with nuggets + torch, animated, oxidize.
