Minecraft Java 1.21 has just introduced an exciting batch of new features in Snapshot 25w06a, bringing more variety to the game’s wildlife and biomes. Players can now discover two brand-new chicken variants, new egg types, desert vegetation, and several other changes that enhance both gameplay and world-building. New Chickens and Eggs

The beloved Minecraft chicken now has three distinct variations, each spawning in different biomes:

• Temperate Chicken – This is the classic chicken players are familiar with, now officially named. It spawns in moderate biomes like plains and birch forests.
• Cold Chicken – A fluffy-feathered variation that spawns in snowy biomes, resembling other cold-adapted animals such as the cold cow and cold pig.
• Warm Chicken – A sandy-toned bird that spawns in warm biomes like savannas and deserts, complementing the warm cow and warm pig variants.

Alongside these new chickens, Minecraft 1.21 introduces two new egg types:

• Brown Egg – Dropped by Warm Chickens.
• Blue Egg – Laid by Cold Chickens.

Each egg functions just like regular chicken eggs but always spawns the corresponding chicken variant when thrown, regardless of biome. This means you can easily transport and breed different chicken types in new locations!

Desert Biome Enhancements

The desert biome has received some much-needed attention with the addition of new plant life:

• Short Dry Grass – A small, decorative plant that generates in deserts and Badlands.
• Tall Dry Grass – A taller version that remains one block high, different from traditional tall grass.
• Cactus Flower – A rare bloom that appears atop cacti, adding some color to the arid environment. It can be harvested and converted into pink dye.

Additional Changes

• Grass and terracotta compatibility – The new dry grass variants can be placed on sand, terracotta, and dirt blocks.
• Sheep Interaction – Sheep can now eat dry grass to regrow their wool, making desert survival more viable.
• Fuel Source – Both short and tall dry grass can be used as fuel in furnaces.
• New Random Tick Mechanic – Now applies to all chunks loaded by players, Ender Pearls, or spawn chunks.
