Hytale Update 4: 500+ New Blocks and Major Features
The biggest update yet for Hytale 4 has been released. The game now features over 500 new blocks, voice chat, an emotion wheel, and many other changes. The update rolled out gradually over the course of about a month and a half, but the sheer volume of content fully lives up to expectations so be sure to update.
Also, ahead of the release, news emerged about future development and the studio plans to add social features-friends, party creation and easier travel between worlds.
Voice Chat in Hytale 4
Here it is: full-fledged voice chat. It works in multiplayer, and in single-player mode its only available when the world is open to the network. Settings for enabling and disabling the feature adjusting volume, and assigning buttons are available.
There are also several operating modes: walkie-talkie, walkie-talkie with toggle and voice activation. Noise cancellation has been added. Voice quality depends on distance and surroundings; for example it changes underwater or as players move further away. You can also quickly check if the microphone is on.
Emotion Wheel
Hytale now features an emotion wheel which opens by holding down a button. You can choose one of nine emotions. Some emotions are looping and continue until the player cancels them. At the same time the character expresses emotions not only through movements but also through facial expressions. According to the developers the ability to add custom emotes-including the use of them on servers-will be available in the future.
Over 500 New Blocks
A huge number of new blocks have been added, organized into categories in the updated inventory. Among the interesting new additions:
- T-shaped fences with a more complex design
- Decorative pipes made of various materials (gold, copper, bronze, iron, zinc)
- Neon signs related to future high-tech updates
Items and Mechanics
New farming tools have been added -copper and iron sickles with increased durability. The potion system has been changed. Now they provide an instant effect and additional healing over several seconds. The duration of the effect depends on the potion’s size and all information is displayed in the description.
