Minecraft 1.21.123: Full Hotfix Breakdown and Bedrock Status
So, we finally got the much-needed hotfix update. What’s more, we got a response from the Minecraft developers. This is version 1.21.123, which has been released everywhere, including Xbox, Windows, and iPhone, so be sure to update.
Bug tracker status and community response
Good news: it looks like the bug tracker is working again. It was said to be fixed in the new hotfix, which we’ll cover now, but it seems like the pink bug is still here. One user reported that it remains active in the latest beta and preview. Not as chaotic as usual, but it’s there. This bug has been plaguing Bedrock for years.
Current player issues
This is a recording + Minecraft issue. It seems that if recording is enabled and you are playing Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.123, this starts to happen.
Another long-standing issue: the skin reverts to the classic Steve/Alex or other installed skins. The cursor still moves in the background and is not blocked by the game.
Official list of changes
Now for the list of changes. It is said that a new update has been released to fix the issues found in release 1.21.120. The update is gradually being released on different platforms. It should already be available to everyone.
The developers thanked everyone who sent bug reports and feedback about the Windows version, although the problems are not limited to Windows. They said that they are actively studying all reports and working on the quality of the game. They will keep everyone informed through change lists. The tracker is starting to stabilize, as is the quality of the game, and they also need to improve communication.
What exactly has been fixed?
Now, what exactly has been fixed. Performance and stability. Reduced increased memory consumption when using improved input latency. This was the main bug: a memory leak on Windows when the improved input response option was enabled. Over the past few weeks, Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21 has been using a huge amount of memory and CPU. This happened in both the release and the preview. It is said that this has been fixed.
Someone wrote that on some devices, the developers simply disabled this option completely and also made it disabled by default. I’m not sure because I don’t use it. The option reduces the delay between your actions and what is displayed on the screen, but it uses more battery power. If you are on Windows, let us know if it got better.
Next: several crashes in version 1.21.123 have been fixed. If the game closed on its own, this has been fixed. Also fixed a crash when using hotkeys while the cursor was over the stone cutter interface. This was related to the new hotkeys, but now the problem is solved.
Graphics bugs, IME, and world generation
Graphics are the most important point. Fixed a bug that caused pink textures to appear on Windows. It fills everything: trees, grass, blocks, everything turns pink and continues to break further. It is said that this is now fixed!
Import. IME bugs have been fixed: candidates could appear on the wrong monitor, be positioned incorrectly, or stop working after switching between windows. World generation: blocks with the tick component now work correctly if they are placed by Jigsaw structures during world generation.
The community is very serious. The latest Minecraft post is filled with comments about Bedrock. Java and Bedrock players are now on the same side for the first time. People still can’t access their Realms, have lost weeks of purchases, and more, and this won’t go away until the issues are fixed.
