Minecraft Bedrock 26.30.21: Sulfur Caves & Spikes
In versions 26.30.20 and 26.30.21, Sulfur Caves were introduced featuring new blocks and spikes, and changes were made to biome generation and transition structures. In addition, a number of bugs were fixed and minor gameplay adjustments were made.
Sulfur Caves and generation issues
A new biome Sulfur Caves was introduced in Bedrock 26.30.21. However there are issues: there are no markers or sources on the surface to indicate its location. Therefore, you have to search for it manually by exploring caves or the surface.
The biome isn’t too rare but finding it is still not easy. There are also bugs with the generation of Sulfur Springs, as they spawn incorrectly or very rarely; but Mojang will likey fix this in Bedrock 26.30.22 or later versions.
Spikes and new transition materials
In Minecraft 26.30.21, Sulfur Spikes were addedd, which had previosly been added in Java 26. They are essentially used as part of the biome’s design and new transition blocks have also been added. Now the sharp boundaries between stone, shale, tuff, and granitte look more natural.
Gameplay changes and balance
The Sulfur Cube, a mob associated with sulfur caves, has had its health reduced and remains non-aggressive. Additionally, in 26.30.20, a bug was fixed that prevented players with resource packs from joining servers and Realms.
New mechanics and future Updates
The trident can now knock down Sulfur Spikes if it hits them. Mojang is also working on a mysterious new cape, which will likely be tied to Twitch. It’s currently unknown how to obtain it or what it looks like, but they promise to reveal details later.
