Minecraft 1.21: Snapshot 25W42A
The snapshot is small and mostly technical. Let’s start with a change that affects zombie horses. Now, if a zombie horse in 25W42A has no rider, you can tie it with a lead rope and secure it in the desired location so that it doesn’t run away. This was not possible before.
We also fixed a bug that caused riders on zombie horses to appear with any item instead of a spear. Now they are always armed with only a spear. In addition, skeleton horses no longer burn in the sun, which may hint at future changes.
Nautilus and their behavior
Small zombie nautilus are still pale in color – this is not a bug, but a design choice. Now they can be bred not only with pufferfish, but also with any other fish. This speeds up their growth to the adult nautilus stage.
Fixed a bug that prevented nautiluses from moving on land. Now they can slowly crawl back into the water if they accidentally end up on the surface. A new underwater movement sound has also been added, similar to an aquarium tube with oxygen bubbles. However, nautiluses cannot yet return to the water on their own – this is likely a temporary bug.
Enchantment fixes and improvements
As for the “Lunge” enchantment for spears: previously, it was not compatible with “Repair,” but now you can use both effects at the same time, as well as add “Durability.” Weapon wear has been reduced, but it’s still worth being careful – durability is still being consumed.
Changes to piglin behavior and bug fixes
A strange bug has been noticed with piglins: even in the Nether, they sometimes turn into zombified piglins. This is probably a bug. However, piglins now react to golden nautilus armor – they can pick it up and use it to achieve the “Oh, shiny!” achievement.
An unpleasant bug with effects has also been fixed. If a player gave themselves night vision, saturation, or water breathing, and then left the world, an error about losing connection would appear upon returning. This issue has now been resolved. Changes have also been made to the technical side of things. Now, using resource packs, you can set different colors for the sky and water for each biome.
How to get a copper cape in 25W42A
Now let’s talk about how to get a copper cloak. It looks great with armor and goes especially well with elytras. The first way is to go to the Bedrock edition of Minecraft and place several copper golems. The cape is not issued immediately, but within two weeks, until October 31.
The second way is to get the code through special broadcasts on TikTok. You need to open the streams tab, select the ones with a special icon, wait about three minutes, and copy the code that appears. Sometimes a hoodie is given instead of a cloak, but you can try again on another stream.
The third way is to get the cape through Twitch. Just create an account, find a stream marked “Drops enabled” and watch it for 15 minutes. After that, a message about receiving the reward will appear in your notifications. Then you can activate the code in the profile section on the official Minecraft website.
The developers recently fixed the cloak distribution system, and now they are available not only on Bedrock, but also on the Java version of Minecraft.
Snapshot results
Snapshot 25W42A after 25W41A turned out to be mostly technical – bugs were fixed and previous changes were improved. Perhaps something new and more ambitious will appear next week.
