Minecraft Java 26.1 Pre-release 1 – Big Fixes for Tiny Mobs
The latest 26.1 update for the Java Edition is in the home stretch, and the developers have now released the first pre-release from the Tiny Takeover Drop cycle. The main focus has been on polishing the game and fixing bugs, of which there have been surpisingly many.
Visual Changes and Interface
New background in the main menu-the Panorama in 26.1 Pre-release 1 now matches the Tiny Takeover theme. Interface changes: for example if the servers difficulty changes while you have the world settings open, the data will update instanly. We’ve also fixed the display of player names above players so they’re now visible through blocks again and items behind name tags are displayed correctly without transparency bugs.
Work on mobs in 26.1
Baby zombies, including drowned and cadavers now swing their arms correctly when attacking while holding something. Helmets on small humanoids no longer shift to the side when turning their heads, and tail and face textures have been fixed for puppies. Additionally all zombie types have had their signature spear attack animations restored.
Mechanics and Stability
A handy little feature: the interface hiding function in Minecraft 26.1 can now be safely assigned to mouse buttons. For those playing in full-screen mode-the game no longer crashes when you press Alt+Tab!
