Minecraft Bedrock 26.0.24: What’s New

Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.0.24 received subtitles, but Mojang forgot to actually add them. This was supposed to be a new accessibility feature, but unfortunately it’s not available yet. The team has already been notified, and the feature should appear in the upcoming updates. After 10 years and one month, subtitles are finally comin to Bedrock.

Today marks the start of a new cycle – version 26.0.24. Numbering is now based on the year of release, so the transition from 1.21 to 26.0.24 is linked to the 2026 updates.

Block issues and fixes

Fixed the end portal that teleported the player into the void. This bug kept reappearing, creating the risk of instant death. The developers have fixed it again, but players are still advised to use elytra.

Creator and commands

Added support for command macros. In the Creator settings you can now enable macros and assign up to 10 new keys, each of which executes a command. This is an important improvement for technical players and map creators.

Gameplay and general changes

Vindicators now correctly attack all non-illagers if you name them Johnny. Fixed the Adventuring Time achievement, which previously unlocked after visiting fewer than 17 biomes. Fixed a bunch of graphical issues: vibrant visuals errors, inappropriate screenshots in raytraced graphics mode, incorrect block height display and other long-standing bugs.

Fixed camera freezing after exiting pause and input issues on Windows, including freezing when pressing Alt.

Item fixes

In Minecraft Bedrock 26.0.24, a bug has been fixed that caused items added to a bag in a chest to dissapear after exiting the world. This bug was present in stable versions and had existed for years. Fixed Piglin and Piglin Brute spawn egg sorting, as well as an issue with the map marker freezing in the frame.

Major mob changes

The developers have fixed dozens of mob-related bugs: centering wolf models, dropping baby zombie variants, correct polar bear behavior and issues dating back to 2019.

The growth of foals, mules and donkeys has been changed in Bedrock 26.0.24, and now they instantly become adults, without an intermediate stage. This is consistent with Java, although previously gradual growth was a unique feature of Bedrock 1.21.

Drowned cubs can now spawn with tridents, and zombie riders now drop the correct loot. Some mobs will no longer be able to pick up spears.

Projectiles and combat changes

Explosive and long-lasting potions now reflect ghost fireballs and other reflectable projectiles, which is another parity with Java.

Fixed bugs: inability to load a world via invitation, incorrect narration, interface freezes when switching between servers. Improved mob effect behavior and fixed hand animation issues during interactions.

26.0.24 – the first update of the 2026 cycle for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. There are few new features, but many old bugs have finally been fixed. Subtitles are promised in the next update.
