Minecraft: Bedrock Edition 26.0 – Patch Notes
Minecraft has released first update of 2026 – 26.0 for Bedrock Edition. It follows a new naming system and includes a couple hundred minor bug fixes, changes, and improvements, as well as several truly important innovations that affect virtually everything.
New command macros and interface changes
The main menu now features Realms and Marketplace buttons. But the most interesting changes are in the settings. In the Keyboard and Mouse section, command macros have been added to vanilla Minecraft Bedrock 26.0. You can assign up to 10 macros to any keys and bind commands to them. For example, Alt + 1 can instantly switch to Survival mode, and Alt + 2 can return to Creative mode.
This works without opening the chat and without manually typing commands. However, it’s worth keeping key conflicts in mind, since pressing number keys still switches the hotbar.
Mobs, nautiluses, and old bug fixes
An old bug with the End gateways has been fixed, which could send the player into the void or under the main fountain when teleporting. The gateways now work correctly.
In 26.0, drowned riding nautiluses now control them on their own. This is important for drowned farms, as nautilus behavior previously disrupted there work. In addition, baby drowned can now hold and throw tridents, making them more dangerous and slightly increasing the efficiency of trident farms.
The ability for baby zombies to appear as jockeys on various mobs has been fixed – now husks, drowned, zombie villagers, and zombie piglins can ride again. Also, baby zombie horses can no longer be saddled or equipped with armor.
Textures, armor, and potion effects
The textures of stripped spruce and stripped fir logs are now lighter and closer to the Java version. Previously, they looked darker and this difference had existed for many years. The stats of horse armor have been changed. Gold no longer provides durability. Diamond now provides +2 durability, and netherite provides +3. The same changes have been applied to nautilus armor.
The display of potion effects has been updated. The main effect, such as one from a beacon is now highlighted with a blue border. This allows it to be distinguished from regular potion effects. However, the problem with effect overwriting on Bedrock remains. A short term stronger effect can still completely remove a long term weaker one.
Graphics, settings and additional changes
Many changes have been made to the “Block Desizing” setting (in the “Special Features” section). Now the gradual fade-out effect when approaching applies to mobs, blocks and items. Nautiluses in Minecraft: PE 26.0 can be splashed with explosive water breathing potions and they’ll be able to stay out of water while the effect is active.
In addition, due to file transfers some Windows10 Edition players may have lost their skin packs, resource packs and behavior packs. They may need to be reinstalled or transfered manually. There were several hundred other fixes in the Bedrock Edition 26.0 update, but these changes were the most noticeable and significant.
